The 15510 Tach Cable Assembly has a strong, wound inner drive cable with swaged on ends. The casing is flexible wound steel with a plastic outer cover
It is very important that the lay (direction of twist) of the cable be specified during ordering. The required lay of the cable is a function of the direction of rotation of the cable during use. Specific instructions are listed on the drawing.
The rotation is determined looking at the port where the cable is inserted into the engine, clockwise is right lay and counter-clockwise is left lay
The minimum bend radius is approximately 7″
A general rule for installation: the tach cable should be installed as straight as possible and the inner cable length will decrease 11/16″ per 360 degrees of bend
